“It’s been a strange spring for the coast of Newfoundland as not one, but three blue whale carcasses washed up on its shores after a pod of them got caught in the ice. While initially there was the headline-grabbing speculation that one of them might explode, the bigger issue soon became how to dispose of them when the overpowering stench of rotting meat started to take over nearby towns.
